Lily Edgington from Selsey took second place in the Riding Horse Hack class at the South Essex Insurance Brokers’ (SEIB) Search for a Star 2014 qualifier, held at Bury Farm Equestrian Village in Buckinghamshire last month.

Riding her horse Risky Business, Lily fought off stiff competition from other riders in the class to gain qualification for the Horse of The Year Show (HOYS).

Lily bought Risky Business as an unbroken six-year-old thoroughbred from his breeder in Bath two years ago. Lily, said, “A friend said Risky Business looked the part so we thought we would have a go at Search for a Star. He is such a good boy, and I am really pleased we are going to HOYS”. Lily and Risky Business also compete in side saddle classes, showjumping and cross country. Lily added, “Risky Business is a real all-rounder, he does a bit of everything. We will be doing a lot of practising in the run up to HOYS including lessons with our trainer, Alison Tucker”.

Lily will compete at the Horse of the Year Show, 8-12 October at Birmingham NEC.
