Thursday April 19 - John Vine CBE QPM

John Vine was the first Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration and will look at the implications of leaving the EU for Border Control. He will give an insight into the challenges of dealing with immigration and security, organised crime and information and intelligence sharing post Brexit.

The role of Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration is completely independent and reports directly to the Home Secretary. John occupied the role for almost seven years before stepping down at the end of December 2014. Paul was formerly Chief Constable of Tayside Police.

Thursday June 28 – Polly Barnfield OBE

Polly Barnfield is the founder and CEO of Maybe* and provides an insight on how the way shoppers shop is evolving very fast as digital influence plays an increasingly large role in all retail sales online and offline. Maybe* connects the online, offline, and social retail journey.

Maybe* is working with National Government and Local Government to deliver the #WDYT (What Do You Think) campaign that helps towns, cities and high street businesses adjust and adapt to the rapidly changing retail environment. Shortlisted for ‘Start-Up of the Year’ by Retail Week.

Thursday September 13 - Clare Marchant

Clare Marchant is Chief Executive at UCAS having previously worked as the Chief Executive of Worcestershire County Council. Clare will share the challenges facing UCAS in the development and delivery of the next generation of information, admissions and data services.

Clare has an impressive track record in the successful delivery of technology enabled change in the public and private sectors. She started her career in production management before joining Deloitte and leading IT-enabled change programmes for a number of well-known brands.
