Businesses across the Coventry & Warwickshire region are being offered an opportunity to find out how get the most out of running an event in the forthcoming Business Festival from November 19 to 30

The Coventry & Warwickshire Business Festival is two intensive weeks of business events all staged by local organisations to incite learning, sharing and business growth opportunities amongst the Coventry and Warwickshire business community.

Anyone can apply to run an event as part of the Festival - and it can be about anything so long as it benefits other businesses or individuals in the region. To apply, businesses should complete a short application form available on the Business Festival website, by September 28.

To help potential event organisers get the most out of running an event in the Festival, organisers, Associate Events are running a free workshop at Coombe Abbey on Monday July 9 from 2pm-3.30pm.

The workshop will cover the application process; what to think about when organising and running an event; as well as tips on how get the best out of the Festival. There will also be opportunities at the end of the workshop for one-to-one discussions from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Alister de Ternant, managing director of Associate Events said, “This workshop is completely free to attend and is open to any business or organisation thinking of running an event in the Coventry & Warwickshire Business Festival.

“We want people to use this time to come and find out more about the Business Festival and how to put on a really useful event with stimulating, engaging content that will be attractive to the audience - and that people will want to attend. This is a great chance to ask lots of questions about the process and to get a real understanding of how to get the most out of running events in the Festival.”

Developed by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) and the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub, the annual Business Festival first took place in 2017, where nearly 5,000 attendees attended 114 events over the fortnight.

Craig Humphrey, managing director of the Coventry & Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub, said, “The strengths of Coventry and Warwickshire really become evident through the Business Festival, when the whole business community joins together to collectively showcase the outstanding potential for investment in this region, combining our efforts to be recognised as the Knowledge Capital of the UK.”

“This is the region’s largest business event and something that everyone should get involved with. However, the number of applications is being limited this year to ensure that all the events are relevant, timely and work well alongside each other within the overall programme.

“All applications are also being taken on a first come, first served basis, so I urge anyone thinking of running an event to submit their application soon – and if unsure of how to do so, this workshop will be walking through that process.

The workshop is free and being run on a first come, first served basis. Numbers are limited so registration is essential. Visit cwbusinessfestival.com/rsvp to reserve a place.
