“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for both awards – this is a real achievement for the company which is down to many successes this year for Tenens including; New site acquisitions, contract wins, contract renewals, significant investment and development in both our teams and systems as well as ongoing environmental initiatives”

Howard Tenens, one of the UK’s largest privately-owned logistics companies have been named as finalists for two awards at this years Motor Transport awards on the July 4, both in the Livery of the Year and Haulier of the Year categories.

The annual Motor Transport awards celebrate, recognise and reward excellence in the road freight transport industry, with the Haulier of the Year award being the most coveted award in the road transport industry. The award celebrates outstanding road haulage or 3PL company who shows a tremendous all-round commitment to legal compliance, business success, high operational standards, staff development, safety, health, environment and quality.

Following the announcement of the shortlist, Karl Hodgkinson, Group Commercial Director at Howard Tenens commented: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for both awards – this is a real achievement for the company which is down to many successes this year for Tenens including; New site acquisitions, contract wins, contract renewals, significant investment and development in both our teams and systems as well as ongoing environmental initiatives. It’s been a fantastic year and we’re looking forward to the year ahead.”

Howard Tenens’ dedicated gas vehicles are the inspiration and subject matter of the second award nomination for “Livery of the Year”. This award celebrates trucks and trailers that have been used as mobile billboards by operators to present a strong, positive image of the company and the transport industry to the public. Tenens new “Cleaner Planet” livery is a culmination of Tenens environmental initiatives, the positive message these vehicles represent and an eye-catching design.

The initial concept behind “A Cleaner Planet” was created by We Are Alive, Tenens principal marketing agency in conjunction with the team at Tenens whose brief was:

• Create a new vehicle livery design for their 100% gas-powered

• Highlight the benefits of the environmentally friendly fuel and its impact on our future

• Achieve an outstanding design that elevates the brand

• Ensure a unique design that underpins a powerful and onerous message

Andy Price, Client Services Director at Alive states: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. It was a great project to work on, with the team at Tenens giving us free reign to create a livery design with real stand-out. Most importantly though, this was about creating something that ensured we demonstrated Howard Tenens’ commitment to reducing the impact on the environment, by not only delivering reliable, bespoke logistics solutions, but by delivering a cleaner planet too”.

The feedback was unanimous and the “Cleaner Planet” design was the overwhelming favourite and therefore developed to pre-print production. The final design took Tenens’ livery providers – RGVA, 4 installers and 36 hours to wrap the vehicle in entirety, including all capping, of which the final result was more stunning and eye-catching than the team could ever have imagined on paper.

Kieran McCabe, RGVA Managing Director, comments: “I’m delighted to hear that this project has been shortlisted for such a prestigious award. It’s always a pleasure working with Howard Tenens and I’m really confident when I say that we are producing the highest quality printed wraps out there at the moment due to our recent investment into the latest print technology from Epson. This, combined with our 3M advanced vehicle wrappers installing the job, means we were able to deliver next level quality from start to finish.”

Beth O’Neill - Group Commercial Manager at Howard Tenens comments: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted. We knew our gas vehicle livery needed to be a statement, something that was eye catching but also promoted a clear message about the vehicles environmental credentials and the company’s commitment to reducing their impact on the environment. Both the teams at We Are Alive and RGVA really helped us make this a reality and we’re very thankful to be considered for such a prestigious award.”

Howard Tenens are looking forward to the awards in July where they will find out if they are successful in picking up one if not two awards.
