Midland Communications selected as the official call centre for Comic Relief

Midland Communications, the leading telecommunications company based in Tewksbury, is delighted to announce that it has been selected as an official call centre for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2017 to be held on the March 24

Comic Relief is a major UK charity and Red Nose Day is a vital part of it’s year round fund raising activity. To be chosen as a call centre for such an important occasion is a great honor for us and is, I hope, real proof of our excellence in this field.”

Launched in 1985, Comic Relief is a major UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of and tackling poverty and social injustice both in this country and around the world. Since launch it has raised in excess of £1billion.

The Midland Communications 30 strong team will “man the phones” from 7pm - 11pm on the 24th from their Miller Court Business Park offices for the duration of the Red Nose telethon.

To celebrate the event and help raise further funds for Comic Relief, Midland Communications staff will engage in a “Twenty Four Hour Midland PingPongAthon”.

This epic challenge (to be held in the Midland Communications Offices) will commence on Thursday March 23 at 5pm and will see staff, family, customers and friends play continuous table tennis until 5pm on Red Nose Day.

Midland Communications employees Jayne Grazette, Debbie Thompson, Hayley Thomas and Glo Slatter were the driving force beyond the company’s Red Nose initiative.

Jayne Grazette: “As well as providing the call centre, our team thought it right and proper that we did something special to raise funds on the day and, the more we talked about it, the more ambitious the thinking became. We’re already excited about it: The table is set up downstairs, the red balls have been ordered and we’re looking forward to welcoming anyone to our offices on the 23rd and 24th who fancies giving us a game.”
