More than 200 people from the Oxford community visited Oxford North’s public exhibition as Thomas White Oxford, on behalf of St John’s College, unveiled its proposals for a new urban district for Oxford

Oxford North, part of the Northern Gateway, will be a thriving and vibrant community with innovation and sustainability at its heart.

The public consultation process is seeking the views on Oxford North’s proposed plans before Thomas White Oxford applies for outline consent for the overall masterplan and detailed consent for the first phase of development. The two consultation events took place on Monday 2 July and Wednesday 4 July 2018 at the Town Hall and Jury’s Inn respectively.

Julian Barwick, project chairman, Oxford North said: “It was heartening to see so many people visit our exhibitions, finding out more about the project and sharing their views. We listened and heard some useful insights; that is what consultations are for. Since the Area Action Plan was approved by the City Council in 2015, we have spent three years designing a new mixed-use community that will form a key part of Oxford’s future. But we continue to hear new views that will help us shape a development that will work for all of Oxford.”

The public consultation closes on Sunday July 22 at 11pm. To have your say online, please visit: oxfordnorth.commonplace.is.
