A consultancy at the forefront of developing innovative people management practices and new ways of working has taken office space at Witney Business & Innovation Centre (Witney BIC)

The Pioneers specialise in helping organisations such as Hilton Hotels, Costa and Nando’s, to create the culture they need to engage team members, improve customer service and enhance business performance. The team is also supporting much smaller companies to shape a culture that fuels rapid growth.

Matt Grimshaw, from Witney, Founder and Partner of The Pioneers, said: “When you’re a consultant who spends lots of time travelling and working from client sites, I think it’s important you have access to quality office space near to your home. Minimising your commute helps with productivity and allows our team a greater work life balance. I’d be happy to lease space anywhere in the world to attract the talent we need to grow our business.”

The company runs a ‘virtual’ operation with consultants working from different locations across the country and Matt believes that more and more people will find themselves working in this way. He said: “Businesses are keen to reduce their property costs and to create the flexibility that allows them to attract and retain the best talent. Therefore, working remotely and working from a shared office space is a trend that will continue to grow.”

The Pioneers relocated from Cherwell Innovation Centre to Witney BIC, both part of Oxford Innovation’s network of 24 centres across the UK, as the centre is conveniently located close to Matt’s home, allowing him more time to see his three young children in addition to offering flexible working to support client projects he currently has running in the US and Japan. Office space is also leased in London to support Co-founder and Partner, Bee Heller and Partner, Jeff Wellstead.

Matt continued: “Witney BIC gives us the flexibility we need as a dynamic, growing consultancy. We make use of its meeting rooms for our company meetings and value being part of Oxford Innovation’s network of centres. It’s also great not to be constrained by long leases or having to maintain facilities. In addition, the fantastic Witney BIC team truly understand the type of relationship a customer wants and shape their service accordingly.”

Witney BIC provides a selection of office space solutions for one to 30 people and is owned by Blenheim Palace.

Alli Anderson, Centre Manager at Witney BIC, said: “We are pleased to welcome Matt and The Pioneers to the centre and will ensure Oxford Innovation continue to support the company’s growth plans through our network of centres across UK.”
