The Lady of the Manor at Loseley Park in Guildford, Sarah More-Molyneux is also a talented florist who can often be found at Covent Garden at the weekend, searching out beautiful blooms for the weddings that take place at their 16th century home...

My perfect weekend is not rising to the alarm clock, being able to have a long leisurely breakfast with my husband Mike, a lovely long walk with our three dogs through the Surrey countryside, arriving at our local pub, The Withies, for a late lunch, sitting outside and then returning to log fires, tea, crumpets and a good film. Sadly, this does not happen very often, but it is good to dream!
In reality, being a wedding florist, weekends tend to be very busy, and entail me leaping out of bed at 5am to set up the Tithe Barn at Loseley or another venue off-site, delivering bouquets and button–holes and making sure everything is ready for their special day.
Sometimes, I will go and finish off decorating a church in one of our stunning Surrey villages. This I love as I see more of the historical wealth of our villages, which we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.
Even if we are very busy though, Mike and I do like to try and meet for a cooked breakfast at weekends.
If there is not a wedding, I will very often be meeting couples to discuss their floral arrangements. This is one aspect of flower arranging that I really enjoy as I love to make every wedding very individual and personal to the couple. Sometimes, I’m up at 3.45am to choose the flowers at The New Covent Garden Market and occasionally the brides will brave the early mornings to be with me as well.

As a family, we try very hard to have large Sunday lunches with four generations all sitting down together. However, this does not always happen as living at Loseley is rather like living over a shop and there is always something happening. Our mothers are both 90 and our first grandchild, Cressida, is 17 months. Our son Alexander and his wife Sophia work and live on the estate and for the first time in the history of Loseley, twins are to be born here as Sophia is expecting any day now.
Our daughter Katrina and her husband, Sam, work and live in London, so it is relatively easy for them to join us, but our youngest son, Tristram, is in Shropshire so it’s harder for him to get away at weekends.
One of my passions is listening to classical music whilst doing my tapestry and at present I am working on a large carpet. Both are hugely relaxing and if I find myself under pressure with floral work I can lose myself in my sewing and become my most creative. Also, I can usually work out how I might create a most specific table centre for a couple.
Mike and I like to wind off with Evensong at the Cathedral – the choirs and music there are outstanding – a very peaceful and reflective end to the weekend, looking forward to the week ahead.
