From 8 to 23 February, A la Ronde, the National Trust property at Summer Lane, Exmouth, hosts its first exhibition of the 2014 season.

Exmouth artist Michael Buckland is known locally for his vibrant and colourful paintings; and this exhibition will consist entirely of works that explore the special atmosphere of A la Ronde, the amazing diversity of its collection and its beautiful setting.

Exterior views of the house include the apple orchard and visitors enjoying a cream tea under the ash tree, while interior scenes depict the quirky and individual characters of the rooms where light reflected from mirrors and windows have caught his painter’s eye.

Property assistant Lesley Strong says: “If you have never visited the house before this is an ideal opportunity to come and explore the delights on offer.”

Michael’s art work can be seen, free of charge, in the stable and award winning tearooms between 10.30am and 5.00pm. Parking is free. Normal admission charges apply for the house and last admission is 4.00pm.
