Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Kate Gallagher and I am the principal at Greenway Kindergarten in Woodford Green and Chigwell.

Where do you live and why?

I live in Woodford and I have recently moved from Snaresbrook. Woodford is a great town and I’m even closer to work now.

Are you a lady who lunches?

Sadly not, I’m too busy.

Which is your favourite local boutique?

Buckhurst Hill has lots of lovely boutiques and I often find little gems. However, I do like to have a browse in Revive in Wanstead as they have many different vintage products.

Which beauty product do you swear by?

I love mascara and particularly Lancome Hypnose, that’s my favourite.

Twitter or Facebook?

Facebook. I still don’t understand how to use Twitter.

Which local restaurant is top of your culinary list?

Provender in Wanstead, as it offers amazing French foods. As I grew up in France, I like to go there for a special occasion.

Time for a local girly night out. Where do you head?

We might spend the evening in the Cuckfield Pub in Wanstead, eating their good food, taking part in their pub quiz and having a couple of glasses of wine in their beer garden.

Bootcamp or a run?

Bootcamp. I go twice a week to the one at Ashton Playing Fields where Greenway Kindergarten is based. It is really good.

What is the most valued possession in your handbag?

My phone. I would be lost without it as there is so much information on it.

What was your last big splurge on?

My wedding. I just got married last week. It was well worth it though.

What luxury could you simply not do without?

I love to travel and I enjoy anything from skiing breaks to holidays on the beach. We always go to La Plagne, a French ski resort, and I go to Marbella quite a lot too.

Where is next on your vacation wish list?

We are going to Venice for our honeymoon for a week. I’m super excited to see the beautiful city on the water including St Mark’s Square and the Grand Canal. Also having a cocktail in Harry’s Bar.

Beach break or city break?

Even though I’m going to Venice, I do love a beach holiday.

What makes you smile?

The funny anecdotes the young children come up with every day at Greenway Kindergarten, and my new husband too!

Do you have a claim to fame?

Through my Irish side of the family, I’m somehow related to Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe.
