An explosion of colour around Yorkshire
What’s your favourite springtime flower? Is it the snowdrop? The bluebell? Or the daffodil? We all have our favourite bloom of the season and it should be said that favourite colours or flowers are surely just a matter of taste.
Those of you who can’t decide which of the three you prefer, may prefer the explosion of colour that be found in a display of crocuses. Although there is a wildflower variety that can be found, the majority of crocuses you see are not native to British woodlands and fields, you will most likely see a cultivated display within the green spaces of our towns and villages. Some displays use all three different colours of the flower, while some are more uniform in their use of one colour.
Yorkshire has many displays of fine crocus displays in the early months of the year, there is Lister Park in Bradford, Harlow Carr in Harrogate, Clifton Park in Rotherham and Temple Newsam and Hyde Park in Leeds to name just a few.
