Photographers love to point and click in Poynton.

Poynton lies on the easternmost fringe of the Cheshire Plain, Stockport is just five miles to the north, while Macclesfield is just 6 miles to the South.

The close proximity to Manchester Airport and the Peak District National Park (Lyme Park is also just a few miles away) make this town an increasingly popular place to live.

Poynton may not be as famous as its local neighbours, but it has been in the headlines in recent years. You may remember Poynton hitting headlines a few years back for the £4 million that was spent in creating a shared space for road traffic and pedestrians.

Fans of the Great British Bake Off may remember Poynton resident Luis Troyano creating a ‘gateway’ sculpture’ inspired showstopper in the 2014 final.

When it comes to taking photos in Poynton, its the waterways that provide the most inspiration, the Macclesfield Canal runs close by and is a popular place to visit.

Poynton Pool, the ornamental lake that is part of Poynton Park can also provide inspiration, the still waters and clear horizons make for beautiful reflections and sunset shots.
