We have picked some of the most romantic hotels in Kent to stay with your loved one
1. Sands Hotel, Margate
An absolute gem of a boutique hotel, Sands is trendy yet classical, luxurious yet unfussy. Its claim to fame is its incredible view, so prepare to be wowed with a view across the sands and out to sea. Rescued by a property entrepreneur in 2011, the Victorian hotel was derelict and destined to be converted into flats. Now boasting 20 rooms, an excellent bar, a contemporary restaurant with sea views and a terrace for al fresco dining, it’s the perfect base for a romantic weekend at the seaside. During the day, explore Margate’s Old Town, go rollerskating at Dreamland and take a walk along the beach towards Broadstairs.

2. Port Lympne Hotel, Hythe
If your partner is an animal lover, Port Lympne Wild Animal Park has a number of overnight accommodation options - none more romantic than the elegant Port Lympne Hotel. Originally built in 1913 as a family home for Sir Philip Sassoon, the imposing mansion was frequented by friends including Winston Churchill and Charlie Chaplin. John Aspinall bought the estate in 1973 and set about turning its grounds into a wild animal park. With impressive views over the Romney Marsh and towards the sea, the Edwardian mansion has beautiful bedrooms, a relaxing bar and one of the most romantic and dramatically decorated restaurants in Kent. And of course, no stay would be complete without a tour of the wild animal park itself.
3. Albion House, Ramsgate
Set high on the cliff and overlooking the Royal Harbour, Ramsgate’s Albion House was built in 1791 and is one of the finest buildings in the town. Shortly before she was queen, Princess Victoria famously stayed here for some time while recovering from an illness. Today the building, used as council offices for many years, has been transformed into a stylish boutique hotel. The rooms are all beautifully presented but the Drawing Room Suite is the star of the show, with its original wrought iron balcony wrapping around it on two sides. What was once the council chambers is now an inviting bar and their relaxed restaurant, Townley’s, is ideal for a romantic dinner. During the day, enjoy the harbour surrounded by its cafés and quirky boutiques, and take in the sea air on one of the area’s scenic walks.

Traditional in style, the six bedrooms and bathrooms are all luxuriously appointed and guests can dine at the award-winning restaurant. Regularly rated one of the best places in stay in Kent, the luxury B&B accommodation at Hever Castle is first class. The location is the main attraction here, with 28 rooms set in the Edwardian wings of Hever Castle. Commissioned by former owner William Waldorf Astor, in a Tudor style to blend in with the castle, the rooms in the Astor and Anne Boleyn Wings allow overnight guests to play the part of royalty for the night. Each room blends original features and antique furniture with modern comforts, and some have views of the castle itself. There is an excellent breakfast and complimentary access to the castle and gardens.
