Exciting new class to be trialled at Bramham this year

The warmer weather has arrived, the song birds are finding their voice and the countryside is transforming to the green hues of summer. These welcome signs herald the countdown to Yorkshire’s largest equestrian spectacular, the Equi-Trek Bramham Horse Trials. This year’s dates are June 9th–12th; four not-to-be missed days of top-flight equestrian action, family fun, retail therapy, divine food and adventure for all.

At the heart of the show are the three eventing competitions, the ultimate test of horse and rider. The Equi-Trek CCI3*, the Bishop Burton College U25 CCI3* and the British Equestrian Trade Association CIC3* will host about 150 riders all looking to rise to the Bramham challenge, including cross country courses designed by former Olympian, Ian Stark.

New in 2016 is a fourth class the Event Rider Masters CIC3*. Bramham is proud to be selected as part of this new initiative which aims to bring the sport to a wider audience and raise the public profile. Just 40 of the world’s best will vie for a share of the £50,000 prize fund on offer.

The trade stand village this year features over 135 vendors selling everything from saddles to diamonds, horse boxes and cars to sculptures and handbags to hot tubs. You can also pay our 2016 charity, Parkinsons UK a visit to find out more about their crucial work. Plus, there’s a food hall and plenty of outlets for food and drinks – or pack a picnic yourself! Our ‘Action and Adventure Zone’ is a welcome distraction for the adrenaline seekers and the kids will love the family zone. Kick-start your weekend early on Friday, June 10th with late night shopping – entry is free after 4pm.

Ticket prices start at £11 and under-12s go free with a paying adult. There are great discounts for early bookings plus you can buy a weekly parking ticket for just £2 which could save as much as £18 as daily parking is £5 on the gate – but hurry as phone bookings close on June 1st and online it’s June 4th.
