Home to some of the most iconic symbols in the world – ranging from the enchanting sound of the bagpipes to the warming smells of the great pine forests – Scotland is thriving in spirit and culture. The Scottish country is home to such grace as the majestic arts, but also to the incredibly exciting history of epic battles and towering castles; one can guarantee that any visit to the heart of the British Isles shall be steeped in wonder.

However, I would suggest making sure your calendar is free for mid-September, as Scotland’s very own Blair Castle is bringing one of the largest events in equestrian championships to the stunning landscape of Highland Perthshire.

Five time Olympian and member of the British Eventing Team from 1984 to 2000, Ian Stark, was given the task of designing the Longines FEI European Eventing Championship 2015 cross country course.

“My aim is to incorporate the modern, accuracy side of cross-country riding,” explained Mr Stark, “but still to have horses going forward and attacking the fences.”

If you are looking to immerse yourself in top class competition whilst being surrounded by fantastic family entertainment – including the Highland Ponies, demonstrations of Parelli techniques, and the hair-raising Les Amis d’Onno Scottish stunt riding team – or even to stay at our Glamping site just five minutes walk from the public entrance, then join the 60,000 other spectators at the breathtaking grounds of Blair Castle on the 10-13 September.
