Following 18 months of working around the clock and an investment worth 45 million, Bournemouth Airport’s passengers can now get that holiday feeling as soon as they walk through the new look departures terminal.

The airport’s vision was to provide air travellers to and from the south of England with a new and greatly improved airport facility that combines ease of use, convenience, enhanced catering and retail outlets with a number of big name brands, and excellent customer service.

The terminal redevelopment has seen the size of the departures building double in size, and the amount of retail and catering space tripled. Three new catering outlets have been incorporated into the new terminal– Joe’s Kitchen & Coffee House, The Olive Tree restaurant and an Estpresso coffee bar. The brands have been carefully selected to offer passengers the widest possible choice of food and drinks, at any time of the day.

Due to the major changes at the Airport many big brand airlines have decided to operate from Bournemouth this summer including, Flybe and bmi baby (flying to Manchester and Jersey respectively). Thomson will be replacing the existing aircraft that they have based at Bournemouth with a brand new, larger aircraft, and Ryanair will be basing two aircraft at the Airport this summer.

It means that the choice of destinations from Bournemouth is rapidly expanding. Passengers can now fly to over 45 destinations worldwide, including Antalya and Bodrum (Turkey), Dubrovnik, (Croatia), Malta, Porto, (Portugal), Sharm el Sheikh, (Egypt) and Valencia (Spain).
