In his first major UK tour, two art galleries in Warwickshire will receive a visit from the man who has become known as the 'king of cinematic romance' - the talented artist Jeff Rowland.

Rowland will be making personal appearances at Castle Galleries, Leamington Spa, on Saturday, November 15 (12-3pm) and Castle Galleries, Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday, November 16 (12-3pm).

Following the wettest summer on record in 2007 and an unprecedented amount of rain and flooding during August and September 2008, Rowland has managed to bring back classic romance amidst drenching downpours, when capturing snatched moments of love and passion in his seven new limited edition prints collection - entitled A Brief Encounter.

Heavily influenced by the work of British film director David Lean, who notably directed Brief Encounter in 1946, Rowland has remained steadfastly faithful to capturing scenes as if taken from the director's eye in his latest collection.

A Brief Encounter, the title piece of the collection, is inspired by the film of the same name and is bathed in a swirl of steam billowing from a train; whilst other titles in the collection include Unforgettable, Gateway to your Heart, Au Revoir, Big Yellow Taxi and Under a Brooklyn Moon. Moving away from the rain genre, Fairytale of New York is a romantic winter street scene featuring a parting couple in the snow, which looks perfectly placed to capture the Christmas market.
