As the dust settles on series two of Broadchurch – Joe Miller is acquitted and then run out of town by two angry mums (Ellie and Beth), and the Sandbrook case is finally solved – Ricky did it with help from Claire and Lee - the news that lit up Twitter was that Broadchurch is to return for a third series.

Obviously the Bridport-based writer and creator of Broadchurch, Chris Chibnall, is going to be keeping his plot lines a closely guarded secret, but what we do know is that that dynamic duo of Olivia Colman and David Tennant are signed up for series 3. That is confirmed. Whether the fabulous backdrop of West Bay continues to have a starring role is unclear – but let’s hope so.
