The judging has begun. Will your photo be the one to impress and win you a great new camera?
Which will win? It’s one of the toughest but most enjoyable jobs of the year. Our panel of judges has begun the arduous task of choosing a top 12 from the hundreds of entries to our annual amateur photographic competition.
Once they have agreed on the shortlist, they will set about the even more difficult task of selecting a top three who will win wonderful prizes provided by our competition sponsors, Wilkinson’s Cameras.
The first prize winner will receive a Canon EOS 100D and EF-S 18-55 IS STM worth £479.99, second prize is a Canon Powershot S120 worth £399.99 and if your picture comes in third place you’ll win a Canon Powershot SX 510 worth £219.99 (all prices correct as of March 2014). The 12 shortlisted pictures will be considered for use in next year’s Cheshire Life calendar.
Cheshire Life picture editor John Cocks and David Parkinson from Wilkinson’s Cameras are judging the pictures along with editor Louise Allen-Taylor, who said: ‘The competition is always popular with our readers and it’s a real pleasure to look at all the pictures submitted.
‘Once again the standard is incredibly high and we’re having a difficult job of narrowing it down to just 12.’
