Folkestone Quarterhouse presents The Nutcracker as its Christmas show on 20, 21, 23 and 24 December 2014 at 2.30pm every day.
It’s Christmas and Clara is given a wooden nutcracker in the shape of a handsome Prince. This enchanting present leads Clara and her brother Fritz into festive fun and great adventure.
The Mouse Queen has stolen the magic of the Christmas Tree star and the Land of Make Believe is in danger. The children and the toys must join in battle against the rotten royal rodent to save the magic of Christmas and restore the Prince to the throne. But first, Clara and Fritz must learn how to believe…
The Nutcracker is adapted by Jenifer Toksvig; and co-directed by Julia Black, who has directed over 40 productions for the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, and Adam Forde, who is head of Youth Theatre and Education at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre; music is by David Perkins whose previous work includes ‘The Wind in the Willows’ for Edinburgh Festival Fringe, ‘The Happy Prince’ for Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre and ‘Just So Stories’ for the Apollo Theatre Company.
