Foodies Festival returns to South Parks, Oxford across the August Bank Holiday – with a star-studded line-up of celebrity chefs and chart-topping music stars

Foodies Festival (dubbed “Gastro-Glasto”) is the biggest touring gourmet food festival in the UK, featuring MasterChef champions, stars of Great British Bake-Off and Michelin-Starred Chefs.

Award-winning chefs taking part this summer, include: MasterChef: The Professionals 2021 champion Daniel Lee, alongside fellow finalist, Aaron Middleton, and MasterChef 2020 champion, Thomas Frake.

Daniel Lee, says, ‘I am thrilled to be performing in the Chefs Theatre at Foodies Festival in Oxford this year. I’m hoping that people will enjoy a bit more of an in-depth and interactive explanation into why I cook the food I do, and where my inspiration for it comes from. For me food is all about bringing people together, and that’s exactly what Foodies Festival is about!’

They will be joined by star bakers, including Great British Bake Off’s, Jurgen Krauss and Lottie Bedlow, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch bread expert Jack Sturgess AKA ‘Bake with Jack’ and local teenage sensation, Kitty Tait, author and baker from The Orange Bakery in Watlington, who’ll be creating show-stopping cakes and patisseries in the Cake and Bake Theatre.

Jack Sturgess, says, ‘I’ve been demonstrating at food festivals for years and Foodies really is THE ONE; great vibes and great food in the Cake and Bake Theatre! Sharing what I know about bread and buns with just the happiest crowd is what Foodies is all about for me, can’t wait to see everyone there.’

Joe Wadsack, drinks expert from BBC TV’s Food and Drink series will share his passion and advice in the Drinks Theatre, alongside many other experts presenting masterclasses and free tasting sessions, including a showcase from Gritchie Brewery, owned by actor Guy Ritchie.

A legion of chefs from Michelin-starred and award-winning restaurants will give the festival a distinctive local flavour, including: chef-patron, Mike North, from The Nut Tree Inn, Murcott, Michelin-Starred chef and Great British Menu celebrity, Paul Welburn and multi award-winning chefs-patrons Yeshi and Julie Jampa, from Taste Tibet in Oxford.

Paul Welburn, says, ‘It’s great to be invited back to Foodies Festival again this year and cooking live in the Chefs Theatre, after some tough years for the industry it is fantastic to be part of this great event once again, with great food, and some good fun as well!’

The music line-up includes multi-talented songstress, Hollywood actress and Masked Singer winner Natalie Imbruglia, and chart-topping noughties band The Feeling, plus festival favourites Toploader.

The high-profile festival has announced thrilling new features and a busy programme of events, in the quest to deliver an unforgettable weekend of fine food, new experiences and exceptional quality, promising a great family day out.

At the three-day festival, visitors can enjoy the Chefs’ Theatre, Cake & Bake Theatre, Drinks Theatre, Shopping Village with award winning artisan producers, Street Food Avenue, Feasting Tent, Cook Book Shop, Kids’ Cookery School, fairground, live music stage and family-friendly areas with activities for children.

Over 200 exhibitors will showcase their produce, providing festival-goers with a fantastic opportunity to sample the best of the region – and to try a huge selection of delicious food and drink from around the world.
