Great Britain’s Wheelchair Rugby will be offering the chance to try out one of the 2012 Paralympic Games most popular sport - Wheelchair Rugby this weekend in Exeter and Newquay.

Free taster sessions run by GBWR will be on offer for anyone who wants to have a go in Newquay and Exeter,

“Our aim is to get more people than ever before playing wheelchair rugby on a regular basis. We have different levels of the game aimed to suit a whole range of disabilities,” said Kirsty Clarke, National Development Director, GBWR. “We’re aiming to put a smile on your face, as you whizz, whack and hurl your way across the court.”

“Rugby Wheels is a brilliant way of having a go, having a laugh - and getting a bit fitter at the same time.” Mandip Sehmi, Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby, Elite Squad. “I’d really encourage would-be participants to come along and get involved – it’s great fun.”

Everyone is welcome from players, to supporters, to coaches, and volunteers. Would-be players just need to bring some comfortable clothes and a water bottle.

The taster sessions will be held on Saturday November 2 from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm at The Sports Hub at Treviglas, Bradley Road, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 3JA, and Sunday November 3 from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm at St Peter’s School, Quarry Lane, Exeter, EX2 5AP.
