Comedy writer Mark O’Connell, who grew up in Cranleigh and still lives in the area now, has a new book coming out to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bond movies.

Written from the offbeat vantage point of a gay teenager whose grandfather was chauffeur to legendary 007 producer Cubby Broccoli, Catching Bullets: Memoirs of a Bond Fan is essentially a love-letter to James Bond. With the anniversary of the films taking place this month, it’s a timely one too.

Writer and actor Mark Gatiss, star of the BBC drama Sherlock, has also penned the foreword to this forthcoming title from Splendid Books.

Catching  Bullets: Memoirs of a Bond Fan by Mark O’Connell is available to order from www.splendidbooks.co.uk.
