We give some famous Lancashire icons the Google Dreams treatment

The Google Dreams algorithm is causing quite a stir on the internet, social media is full of eerie, psychadelic images generated by people across the world.

Software engineers at Google have been trying to find out how effectively computers learn. This involves image recognition AI analysing images up to 30 times, with each layer identifying key features in order to determine what is in the picture.

In a similar fashion to the way we see shapes in cloud formations, the neural networks tries to recognise shapes in images and reinterprates them into what it thinks it should by referencing the vast library of images that are on the internet.

Some of the outcomes are not quite what they should be, which results in some fantastical and other-worldly depictions of everyday scenes.

We thought we would have a go at giving some of our famous landmarks the Google Dream treatment. Can you guess all of them?

If you can’t figure out what they are - here are the originals
