An artist/printmaker based in Leatherhead, Jennifer Jokhoo is inspired by her surroundings, and especially the symmetry of the built environment.
Her striking linocuts and etchings reveal a keen interest in architectural structures, while a passion for the environment is also evident in her landscape series.
"I am fascinated by the development of construction and the transitional phases of the built environment over a period of time," says Jennifer, who is originally from New Zealand.
"I love the recurring geometry, the patterns, the effects of colour and light, and the textures of building materials."
Since moving to Surrey from London, however, Jennifer has also found inspiration in the countryside and its changing moods.
"My work is now heading off into environmental areas," she continues. "I am loving the open spaces of Surrey and feel drawn towards the river near Leatherhead to study its natural plantation."
A member of both Greenwich Printmakers and Southbank Printmakers, Jennifer exhibits her work at the Bourneside Gallery, Dorking.
