Lindeth Howe Country House is a beautiful hotel set amidst six acres of mature gardens with gently sloping lawns, woodland, a sun terrace and magnificent views of Lake Windermere - England’s largest lake - to the fells beyond.

Lindeth Howe is rated AA 4 star originally built in 1879, the inspiring surroundings gave creative inspiration to the famous children’s author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, who once owned Lindeth Howe and wrote two of her stories at the property Timmy Tiptoe’s and Pigling Bland, many of the bedrooms overlook Lake Windermere and all feature flat screen TV’s and much more. Lindeth Howe Hotel has an enviable reputation for fine food and attentive service.

 

The candlelit hotel restaurant has been awarded two AA Rosettes for its outstanding seasonal menu consisting of traditional English cuisine with a French twist.

Leisure facilities at Lindeth Howe Hotel include an indoor pool, sauna, fitness room and treatment room.

 

Recently been crowned ‘Lake District Restaurant of the Year 2009/10’ by Lake District & Lancashire Life Magazine, the elegant Dining Room at Lindeth Howe offers an intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy a superb five-course seasonal menu, freshly prepared by the chefs to order. The hotel has an enviable reputation for fine food and attentive service, and complimented by a fine, good value, wine list. Canapés and drinks are served in the lounge before dinner where you can peruse the menu and make your choice. When ‘chef’ is ready, you will be lead through to your table. The Dining Room is a non-smoking restaurant and serves Traditional English cuisine with a French influence; they have vegetarian menu’s and cater for special dietary requirements.
