THE Lytham Farmers’ Ball Committee held their 100th annual ball at The Grand Hotel inSt Annes. Each year around 200 guests attended the formal black tie event.

The ball started when back in 1911 a group of Lytham farmers got together to actively sell their perishable produce to the Blackpool markets. To celebrate their success they decided to hold a ball which has evolved to the large and successful event it is today. Tickets are never advertised due to its success and although not a fundraising event any monies raised each year are given to the charity of the chairman’s choice.Photography by Kirsty Thompson
