Internationally renowned artist makes first UK gallery appearance outside of London
International artist Romero Britto will be making an exclusive appearance in Manchester this October.
As one of the leading names on today’s contemporary art scene, Romero Britto’s work is celebrated across the globe. In his first UK gallery appearance outside of London, the acclaimed artist will attend a VIP event at Castle Fine Art on King Street on Tuesday 18th October from 6-8pm.
An exhibition of his work, featuring a selection of Romero Britto limited editions, original works and sculptures, is also running at the gallery from 11th – 19th October and is free of charge to the public.
Brazilian‐born and Miami‐made, Romero Britto has exhibited in 30 countries across 5 continents, and collaborated with some of the most famous global brands including Coca Cola, Bentley and Disney. He has captivated audiences worldwide with his art that, as The New York Times described, “exudes warmth, optimism and love.”
An internationally renowned figure, Romero Britto was an honorary torch bearer for the Rio 2016 Summer Games and is a benefactor, donating time, art and resources to more than 250 charitable organizations.
The self-taught artist was inspired by the works of Matisse and Picasso in his youth, before finding fame in America in the 1980s where Pop Art was flourishing.

Explaining why optimism is the source of his artistic influence, he said: “Art can make you look at something in an exciting and totally different way. It can give you the power to ‘fly’. I get my inspiration from simple things in life…from beautiful things that happen around me, things that make me happy and leave me inspired!”
Ian Weatherby-Blythe, Managing Director for Castle Fine Art, said:
“Romero Britto is one of the most celebrated artists of our time – expressionistic and vibrant, his work is universal. Drawing upon Cubist and Pop Art influences, Britto has created a new and inspiring trademark style recognised the world over.
