Local production company GDance is talent spotting physically disabled and non-disabled 11 – 15 year olds to join an exciting new youth company to represent the county.

National research has revealed that there are very few physically disabled children and young people accessing dance and GDance has secured the investment of Arts Council England to help change this in Gloucestershire.

The GDance Youth Company is holding auditions at All Saints Academy in Cheltenham on Sunday 22 November.

GDance are encouraging young people, even with limited dance experience, to come along as they’re looking for potential, not for polished!

The lucky disabled and non-disabled youth dancers selected will benefit from working with a professional choreographer, learning about different dance styles, creating their own performances and showing them off at top local and regional platforms.

The GDance Youth Company will benefit from weekly sessions on Wednesdays 6-8pm at All Saints Academy in Cheltenham, a 3-day choreographic masterclass and at least 2 performance opportunities.

The impact of GDance’s former youth dance companies has been overwhelmingly positive. A former youth dance member commented:

‘Definitely improved my confidence, fitness and also encouraged me to get involved in new things.

‘Made a load of new friends and my experience in difference techniques has grown. Very good quality with a very good teacher’.
