Everyone is welcome to join the celebration that will be opened by Matt Woodley of BBC Radio Devon. Over the course of the day people can participate and watch a range of sports, view a superb art exhibition, take in the views whilst enjoying lovely food and drink and also a chance to watch the 6 Nations Rugby on the big screen.

Also to be re-opened on the site on the day is the refurbished squash and racketball club that will offer a chance for children and adults of all ages to play and also receive coaching from 11.50. We are also fortunate to have organised by England Squash a top level exhibition match at 10.45.

The OCRA and local clubs facility vision of Okehampton Sports and Activity Hub launched eight years ago has responded to local need and previously delivered a new multisport all weather pitch for hockey, football, netball and rugby pitch plus greatly improved facilities for many other sports. The whole project was kick started with £600,000 funding from Devon County Council’s Invest in Devon project six years ago. The site offers access to over 35 different sports and is why in 2012 ,OCRA was selected to host the Devon Games to Inspire, which attracted over 2,500 people. The site plays host to an array of local clubs and fitness sessions as well as a number of Devon and regional development squads.

The Pavilion in the Park project draws the superb site together and will cost £720,000 when fully completed. It comprises of 2 unique social spaces, spectacular balcony areas, sports changing rooms, meeting and office space .

It also offers dining, catering, snacks and a fully licensed bar.

The Pavilion is available for hire for a range of social gatherings.
