Orchestra of St John’s will be performing Vivaldi’s and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons at Victoria Hall at on 15 November
The evening will be an exquisite juxtaposition of the work of Italian Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) and Argentinian born Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992).
The Orchestra of St John’s was founded by Conductor John Lubbock in 1967 whilst a student at the Royal Academy of Music. He has gathered around him a group of distinguished musicians who are outstanding performers and share his ethos of bringing music to people of all ages and from all walks of life. Jan Schmolck, solo violinist and Principal Second Violinist of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House returns to Hartley Wintney to perform in this concert.
In addition to public performances the orchestra give around 40 concerts a year to autistic children and others with learning difficulties through the charity ‘Music for Autism’. Over the last three years they have also developed a series of concerts for people with dementia.
The concert is in aid of Age Concern Hampshire, an independent charity working across the county to support the over 50s.
Tickets cost £12.50 (£10.00 concessions) and include a glass of wine.
