The Prior Park College U16 netball team won the U16 League tournament at Bath University last week.

The team triumphed 14-9 over King Edward’s School, 15-2 against Bruton, 8-2 over Millfield, 12-6 against Bristol Grammar School and 9-4 over Redmaids.

Prior Park dominated every match and the defence of Amelia Hempleman-Adams and Frankie Vaughan was solid throughout, turning over much of the attack from the opposition.

The team’s attack was dynamic and slick throughout, with Mollie Roberts and Ellie Anthony converting a high percentage of shots.

Player of the tournament went to Harriet Freeman, who played outstandingly throughout the afternoon, adapting well to every position she played. Harriet also showed great control, accuracy and composure under pressure.

Prior Park Headmaster, Mr James Murphy-O’Connor, comments:

“The U16 netball team have done the College proud, winning hands down against every team they played against. The girls’ hard work and training has really paid off as there was some very talented match play demonstrated throughout the tournament.”
