Guests gathered on the lawns of Gawsworth Hall, along with picnics and fizz, to hear operatic tenor Russell Watson perform an open air concert.

The Salford-born singer, who now lives in a mansion in Wilmslow, was performing as part of the Gawsworth Hall Garden Theatre Season. The event, which some call ‘Cheshire’s Glyndebourne’, is a popular feature of the county’s social calendar, thanks to the big names and the lovely setting in the grounds of the Elizabethan manor house. Other performers in the 2015 season included Joan Armatrading and the award-winning folk singer Kate Rusby.
