Wildlife night walk
Make the most of the long summer nights with a visit to Feadon Farm. So much wildlife comes alive only at night, and a night lamp and a little expert know-how from wildlife ranger Gary Zammit will reveal this hidden and magical world to you. Look for badgers, owls, deer and foxes – and if the wild foxes don’t show, you will be sure to meet the farm’s own rescued foxes. You might even get to meet the newest resident, Forrest Stump, the tail-less fox cub. Booking is essential.

Rock Oyster Festival
The stunning 17th-century Dinham House overlooking the Camel Estuary is the setting for this celebration of food, music and art. Visitors will eat their way through thousands of oysters highlighting Cornwall’s seafood traditions. There will also be live music, circus acts, children’s entertainment, alternative performing arts and a shopping bazaar.

3 Walking tour of Truro
Have you ever wondered where the name Lemon Street comes from? Or why there is Bath stone in Truro? You can find out the answer to both of these, along with other little-known facts about the city, on a secret tour! Organised by Visit Truro and Absolu (corr) Tours and led by a Blue Badge guide, the walks will allow locals and visitors alike to discover the city’s heritage and lesser-known curiosities. Booking is essential.

Padstow Vintage Rally & Country Fair
Traditional exhibits, including tractors, cars, steam engines and bikes, take their place alongside a countryside corner – which includes a selection of rare breeds, horses and a pets’ corner – at this year’s show. Visitors will also be able to enjoy re-enactments and displays from all aspects of bygone eras. Plus, the line-up includes an aerobatic air display, a falconry show, music festival and children’s entertainers. There will be food and drink stalls and a beer tent.

Eden Sessions – Elbow
The last of this year’s Sessions sees the Mercury Music Prize and BRIT Award-winning Elbow take to the stage at Eden. The alternative rock band will be performing songs from their number one album, The Take Off and Landing of Everything. As well as chart success, their track One Day Like This was used during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, and in 2012 they released First Steps, the BBC theme for the 2012 Games in London. Special guest is Jimi Goodwin of Doves.

RNAS Culdrose Air Day
Come and meet the Fleet Air Arm, the Royal Navy’s flying force, at Culdrose Air Day. This is the only day of the year the public can experience the sights and sounds of a working military Naval Air Station, which is home to a variety of military aircraft, including Merlin and Sea King helicopters, Hawk Jets, and the King Air 350 Avengers. There will be flying displays and a chance to meet the aircrew as well as get up close to state-of-the art aircraft.
