Nathan Parry from Malton is a keen photographer and recently visited Ravenscar to spot the seals in their element.
Ravenscar could well have been a seaside resort as popular as Scarborough and Whitby if the Victorians had their way. However, a resort that was proposed to be created never materialised and the pretty spot on the Yorkshire coast is often referred to as‘The Town That Never Was’.
Despite this, there are plenty of visitors to this part of the North York Moors National Park; The Cleveland Way passes through here on its 109 mile horseshoe route from Filey to Helmsley.
Ravenscar is also a great location to spot wildlife, the beach is visited by both common and grey seals during the course of the year, which in turn attracts people looking to witness these graceful animals in their element.
These adorable photos of the seal population at Ravenscar were taken on a recent trip by Nathan Parry, who works as a chef in Malton and enjoys photography in his spare time.
‘I started learning photography around 3 years ago, mainly as a hobby when out walking with my fiancée, then I became learning more about different camera settings and mainly concentrate on wildlife or landscape photos’.
