The cream of young golfers from across the north west competed in the Junior Open competition. It was staged at Formby Golf Club for the first time in many years.
The event was open to boys under the age of 18 years who are members of recognised clubs and have an official handicap. Formby’s Charlie Whiteside won the Allan Roy Trophy with the best net score of 64 and Lymm Golf Club’s Josh Meeks was the winner of the Marsh Plate silver salver with the best gross score of 73.
