QUAD, Derby’s centre for art and film, has announced details of a tour of outdoor film screenings across the region for their ‘Summer Nights Film Festival’ in 2012. The success of last year’s film screenings at Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and Wirksworth have led QUAD to plan a tour of classic and contemporary films to fabulous locations throughout Derbyshire.
The films will be presented on a giant screen, offering the chance to enjoy a unique cinematic experience in atmospheric surroundings, and even bring a picnic, too!
Summer Nights begins in early May and continues until September, with venues ranging from Renishaw Hall in the North of the county to Calke Abbey in the South. Derbyshire and the Peak District have long provided locations for hit films such as Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice and Women in Love and screenings will include films shot in that particular location.
Films scheduled to be screened include classics such as :
39 Steps (1935), Women In Love (1969), Battle of Britain (1969), Pride and Prejudice (2005);
