Several hundred people gathered for Cheshire Polo Club’s first headline event of 2014 in Tarporley. The club, which was originally founded as the Wirral Polo club in 1885, hosted the final of the Wirral Ladies’ Cup, which is sponsored by Cheshire Life.

Guests who attended the Cheshire Life luncheon at the event enjoyed a champagne reception by Piste Wine Bar of Tarporley, before a tapas style lunch from the award-winning Olive Tree Catering, followed by afternoon tea.

Chester Polo Club with Patron Richard Thomas took home the Wirral Ladies’ Cup by beating Stobart Polo, five goals to three. Patricia Hall of Cheshire Polo Club said: ‘The day was a great success and we will continue the long tradition of welcoming new people to the club and providing the polo enthusiast’s diary with exciting tournaments, functions and parties to attend.’
