The Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials is three days of thrilling world-class competition combining elegant dressage, nail-biting show jumping and dramatic cross-country around the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire’s beautiful parkland at Chatsworth near Bakewell, Derbyshire.

The 3-star international classes provide a showcase for some of the world’s leading riders and horses – previous winners include Andrew Nicholson, Pippa Funnell and William Fox-Pitt. Five-time Olympian Ian Stark continues in his role of course-designer of the 3-star tracks, assisted by Olympic course-builder David Evans who creates the one-star course.

The Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse classes plus Dressage, take place on Friday and there is Cross Country action on both Saturday (novice) and Sunday (advanced).

An exciting programme of arena events includes - A Sheep Show which has captured the hearts and attention of many. New Zealander Richard Savory and his presenters entertain and educate with their fantastic sheep. The highlight will be the ‘Sheep Show Hustle’ or dancing Sheep!

Also there will be a falconry display, the British Scurry and Trials Driving, have-a-go Dog Agility and Dog Show, Pony Club mounted games, Mullenscote Gun Dog Display which incorporates various training methods human and dog psychology and will demonstrate with varying breeds and ages from a puppy to fully trained dogs.

Away from the arena, there is a children’s entertainment area with mini Land Rovers, Farmyard animals, Face painting, a Bouncy castle and a giant slide. Plus over 100 high quality trade stands selling a wide selection country clothing, equestrian products, fashion accessories, crafts and delicious food.

This year’s Charity beneficiary of the event is the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) the provider of a life-saving rapid response helicopter service which relies entirely on donations to keep the service flying.

Tickets to the Dodson and Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials are available at www.chatsworth.org at the special advanced rate of: Friday - Adult £10; Saturday - Adult £14; Sunday - Adult £14; children under 14 £4.50 (under 5s go free). Three-day pass: Adult £30, Child £10.
