Housed under a unique grass roof, Rheged is a surprising building of architectural merit.

There’s plenty to entertain the family with indoor and outdoor play, a pottery painting workshop, giant 3D cinema screen and quirky children’s events throughout the school holidays.

We strive to showcase local excellence by supporting Cumbria’s many talented producers and have 10 lovely shops which do just that. Including artisan food hall Taste, outdoor@rheged which has clothes and lifestyle ideas for everyone who likes the great outdoors, fashion and beauty at Splash Out as well as Toys, Books and Sweets.

For a bite to eat you have the choice of 3 tasty cafes including Peter Sidwell@Rheged Cafe which showcases our celebrity chef’s fresh approach to local produce. We are proud to say that the lamb and beef we serve comes from our family farm and we bake all our cakes in-house. You can also take the time to discover the latest exhibition at the gallery or enjoy a relaxing treatment in our spa.
