In May this year we launched our Village Green Community scheme reflecting the. Village Hotels' responsible and sustainable approach in everything we do.
Our Village Community campaign is our commitment to being a hub for the local area, where people come together to work, play and rest.
We have partnered with three celebrity ambassadors who represent the core pillars of promoting a healthy lifestyle, supporting thriving economies and providing a social and happy place to be.
Our ambassadors include Baroness Karren Brady CBE who is joining forces with us to help nurture and grow local businesses across the country, with the launch of VWorks. Olympic Champion Sir Mo Farah has agreed to help us in our quest to get local communities moving by promoting active lifestyles. We share the belief that good physical fitness and emotional wellbeing are at the root of any healthy community. Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown is our new food and drink ambassador, recently hosting one of our Hospitality Heroes workshops with aimed at helping upskill the local community in the world of hospitality.
Have 2019's sporting events in Yorkshire had an impact on the hotel?
As members of Welcome to Yorkshire, we hosted three Tour de Yorkshire teams during the May tournament. For the UCI World Championships in Yorkshire this September we are delighted to host teams and spectators. Harrogate has been named the main competition town with a wide range of men's, women's and junior races taking place over nine days.
Our close proximity to the iconic Headingley Emerald Stadium means we welcome spectators and stakeholders for both the upcoming Cricket World Cup and the Third Ashes Test this summer.
