Little Frensham Pond, near Farnham
Surrounded by a colourful, heathland mosaic of purple heathers, fragrant bright yellow gorse and rich green bracken, Little Frensham Pond is sure to be a surprise for any Surrey resident who’s never previously visited.
The Moors, near Redhill
Step away from Redhill town centre and it’s only a few minutes walk to the stunning 21 hectare wetland nature reserve known as The Moors. In summer the pools are alive with small damselflies.
Papercourt Lock, near Ripley
Ranking among the prettiest locks on the River Wey, Papercourt Lock’s picturesque cottage and large tumbling bay provide a perfect place to rest and relax.
Shere village
If you can bring yourself to leave Shere behind, you can easily stroll to Albury or Gomshall to the west and east or, for something more strenuous, the North Downs and Hurtwood are on offer to the north and south.
Thursley Common, Thursley
At 325 hectares, Thursley National Nature Reserve is one of the largest remaining fragments of a once extensive area of heathland in Surrey. Today, you can traverse trees and bogs along an expansive boardwalk.
