Saturday July 16, 2pm to 3.45pmThe Send and Ripley Historical WalkWhat? This is a circular 3.5 mile walk, pointing out sites of historical interest in the area.Where? Sunday July 24, 10am to 1pmOckham Common and the Semaphore TowerWhat? A lovely four mile guided walk through Ockham Common with Surrey Wildlife Trust ranger Gemma Grant, up to the Semaphore Tower. The Tower was built in 1822 and is now the only restored surviving tower in a line of signalling stations that stretched from London to Portsmouth.Where? This one mile walk, led by the Town Guides, visits the upper part of the town to view timber framed buildings dating back to the 15th century, Edmund Russell's sculpture to the woollen trade and other places of interest.Where? Thursday July 28, 10.30am to 4.30pm‘Ere’s to PeaslakeWhat? This will be a figure of eight, each loop being of about 4.5 miles, through fields and woods and with some steep hilly sections, including Pitch Hill, Winterfold Wood, Peaslake and Sutton Abinger.Where?
