Contemporary Printmaking
St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery is showcasing a selling exhibition from The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, now the UK’s premier printmaking organisation. Featuring contemporary printmaking including wood engraving, etching, aquatint, linocut, monotype and screen printing, witness some of the very best contemporary printmaking by today’s artists.

Cheese and Chilli
Things will be heating up when the Cheese & Chilli Festival comes to Winchester. The tasty festival promises to be a fun-filled day out for the whole family bringing an amazing array of flavours, colours and experiences. The festival market will provide an abundance of quality local and regional cheeses, chilli-based food and products from all over the world and a selection of high quality food stalls to taste and buy from. Plus a craft fair, Real Ale Festival and children’s entertainment!

Felt Making Workshop
Discover and explore the ancient history of felt making. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience, choose from the techniques to create special felt pieces from Merino wool fibres. Why not make a small 3D flower, a paper weight or simply make a beautiful piece that could be hung on the wall? All materials, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Stained Glass
Rare Tudor stained glass that survived battles and bombs is being rescued from a new threat using the latest technology. The glass, found in the ancient Chapel of the Vyne, is being ‘eaten’ away by condensation. An exhibition plus weekly tours reveals more about the incredible conservation project to protect the glass, considered to be amongst the most beautiful in Europe. Be sure to visit in late August when conservators will painstakingly remove the glass, leaving the Chapel flooded with light.

Emsworth Show
There is something special about the tradition of the quintessential English village event, and you won’t be disappointed if you visit the Emworth show this year. Showcasing a wide variety of local produce, talent and creativity, it is certain to entertain people of all ages and walks of life. Don’t miss the Horticultural marquee. Thought to be the jewel in the crown of the show, it holds the competing exhibits from Fuchsia to photography, and carrots to cake!

Sherlock Holmes
