Ballet good show

Having celebrated 10 successful years in London’s West End, Billy Elliot the Musical dances its way to Southampton as it embarks on its first UK and Ireland tour. Set in a small north-east mining town, follow the story of a boy’s struggle against the odds to make his dream come true. With a timeless score by Elton John. Contains strong language.

Something Old

This antiques fair is not to be missed. With 40 specialist dealers offering a broad range of high quality and collectable pieces, from the 17th century to the present day, with the emphasis on variety and rarity, there’s lots to peruse. The fair also features a range of interior design pieces including reclamation, vintage and mid-century modern.

Literature lovers trail

Grab your brolly and head out on the Jane Rain Trail. Commissioned by Winchester City Council it features 12 Jane Austen quotes in 39 Winchester locations, that appear only when it rains, with a 40th in the College Street garden opposite the house where she died.

Ure going to like this

Bextor is back

Mozart Classic

Amadeus is broadcast live to cinemas from the National Theatre. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arrives in Vienna and, awestruck by his genius and consumed by jealousy, Salieri begins a war with Mozart and ultimately, with God.

John Shuttleworth hits the road with his farewell tour and he’s heading to Portsmouth with John Shuttleworth: My last will and tasty mint. A recent health scare (a mild bout of sciatica) has made him focus on his mortality, and the many things he needs to do before the inevitable move into a hospice. Join him as he ponders on life’s major issues, such as the rise in popularity of hi-vis protective wear, the suitability of the plastic lid on takeaway coffee cups, and whether he should he sell his organs on ebay.

The Portsmouth Room hosts a selection of archive images of the Guildhall from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Reproduced from the collections of Portsmouth Museums, Guildhall: A Moment in Time highlights include the moment its foundation stone was laid and a visit from the future Edward VIII. Funny Bronte

Publick Transport present We Are Brontë, a madcap physical interpretation of the Brontë myth, taking the real and imaginary worlds of the Yorkshire siblings as inspiration. With only a handful of props, two performers deconstruct not only gothic themes of love, madness and revenge, but themselves too. If you enjoyed Lip Service or Living Spit, be sure to get a ticket for this show.
