Having a Ball
Australia’s national ballet company, The Australian Ballet, presents this award-winning production of Cinderella.
Created by Alexei Ratmansky, one of the world’s most sought after choreographers, the production features the extraordinary designs of Jerome Kaplan. Cinderella attends the King’s Ball and meets the handsome Prince, who travels the kingdom with her glass slipper to find her.

Jane’s Local Life
Head to the Langstone Room and join Elizabeth Proudman for this fascinating talk, Jane Austen and her family ties. June 2017 marks 200 years since Jane Austen’s death. She was born in the village of Steventon, and although she lived for a few years in Bath, she spent the majority of her life in Hampshire and her six novels were all written here – three in Steventon and three in Chawton. Elizabeth Proudman will be discussing Jane’s childhood and her family.

Zoe Lyons brings her new show, Little Misfit, to Basingstoke. As the awkward gay kid at school with a different accent and alopecia, she never felt part of the gang, but is now happy being a misfit.

Enjoy an introductory evening to the marvellous world of gin with founder and distiller Paul Bowler, from the award-winning Twisted Nose of Winchester Distillery. Fright Night
Brace yourself for a gripping and terrifying performance of The Woman In Black and then venture on a haunted theatre tour on this theatre and ghost walk. Led by Victorian ghost expert Professor Frederick, wander through the corridors in the hope of encountering spectral residents from the past 160 years. According to legend, the ghost of Henry Rutley, who opened New Theatre Royal in 1856, is said to wander the corridors of the theatre, as is former theatre manager, Herbert Ralph who committed suicide in 1923. Spooky!

Bound to be a Hoot
Wrap up warm, take a torch and step out in the dark with the owls. Held on Saturday evenings throughout the spring, these enchanting ‘Owls by Moonlight’ events give visitors the opportunity to see the owls really awake and at their best. Expect a magical evening with these beautiful feathered creatures. Plus enjoy a light supper as part of the experience.
