The Cheshire Show returns on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd June, we pick out a few things to put on your to do list

Main Ring The Main Ring presents a full and varied programme of entertainment throughout the day and is arguably the centrepiece of the whole two day event. Highlights include Bird of Prey demonstrations, the Scots Guard Association Pipe Band perfomance, the Grand Parade of Champions and the Cheshire Young Farmers Float Competition to name but a few.

Countryside Experience The Countryside Experience Area has a packed arena programme over the two days from 10am to 5pm. Highlights include Gun Dogs Demonstrations, Ferret World and Side Saddle riding. There’s also a chance to try out ancient art of archery and clay shooting.

Sheep Show The Sheepshow is a fun and educational live show of sheep breeds and shearing, there’s even a dancing routine. The performances last half an hour will be at 11.00am, 12.30am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm on both days and is located near to the Vintage Machinery section at the Pickmere side of the Showground.

Vintage Machinery Don’t miss the fantastic collection of Vintage Machinery at the Show. Exhibits include stationary engines, tractors, cars and commercial vehicles. Full details of exhibits will be available at the display. The Vintage Machinery Collection can be found at the Tabley Entrance of the Showground opposite the Farmers Market.

Music There is a full programme of free music from 10.30 to 4.30 over the two days at the Village Green or you can visit the Bandstand to see local schoolchildren perform.

NAFAS Flower Marquee A celebration of all the Country Crafts from around Cheshire, the overall theme this year is 'Let's face the Music'. There will be ten competitive classes and four non-competitive exhibits. the four large non-competitive exhibits will interpret the 'Royal' status in their titles, and not forgetting of course that it is also the Queen's 90th birthday.

WI Section This year the WI is in holiday mood with the theme 'Holiday Time' we always love visiting the WI every year to marvel at the baking delights that their members have produced.

Equestrian The Royal Cheshire Show is one of the highlights of the equestrian calendar in Cheshire, with full Light Horse, Shire Horse and Show Jumping schedules. There’s also the Pony Mounted Games over the two days, there will be four separate sessions, each of which will consist of a selection from a total of 12 games. The teams consist of five members, four taking part in each race.

Food Head over to the Roberts Bakery Food Halls, where you will find one of the largest gatherings of local, regional and national producers and purveyors of fine food under two huge marquees. There is also a full programme of cookery demonstrations in the Food Live Theatre. You can grab a variety of street food at Cook Street and there’s the Farmer’s Market and the Cheese Marquee so there will be plenty of goodies to eat now or take home for later.

Scarecrow Trail Challenge See how many of the scarecrows created by over a exhibitors you can spot, vote for your favourite and you will be entered into a prize draw to win great prizes. Look out for entry forms as you arrive or collect one from the show office next to the Members Enclosure.
