Purrrfect Family Theatre
Don’t miss your chance to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea live on stage! Following a smash-hit west end season, the tea-guzzling tiger is back on the road in this charming family show. Based on the much loved classic book by Judith Kerr, this stunning stage adaptation is the brainchild of David Wood OBE, undisputedly the country’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children. Expect oodles of magic, songs and clumsy chaos.

Following the sellout of The Six Wives of Henry VIII last year, Living Spit return to The Spring with a brand new show. Promising to be (another) poorly researched lesson in Tudor history that you’ll never forget, Elizabeth I: Virgin on the Ridiculous attempts to tell the story of the greatest monarch that ever lived. Expect live original music, silly songs, smutty shenanigans, perfunctory props, and hysterically historical horseplay from the Bristolian duo. Don’t forget the post-show chat in the bar!

Candy Tree Workshop
Hinton Ampner is fast building a reputation as the National Trust’s crafts centre of the south. Throughout early spring you can join a series of dip-in craft sessions, including this unusual opportunity to make a pretty candy tree out of your favourite sweets. Heroes and Superheroes
Hear the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra celebrate some of the best heroes and superheroes with an evening of blockbuster soundtracks. Films represented include Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Schindler’s List, The Last Samurai, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars and a reprise of the best superhero of them all – Superman.

An Evening of Murder
Join Dr Lucy Worsley for an illustrated tour through the dark story of our fascination with murder. The BBC TV presenter will examine some notorious crimes and criminals, but also explain how murder became a form of entertainment through novels, plays, paintings, and the press.

The Picture Trail
For a special half-term experience head to Mottisfont. There’s crafty fun for kids on the ‘Get the picture’ trail, inspired by Mottisfont’s photography exhibition. Take a picture frame around the gardens to ‘capture’ some ideas then recreate them using the craft materials. Don’t forget to look out for the snowdrops – they litter the river banks of this ancient former priory.
