More 200 guests attended the Pride of Racing Awards sponsored by Betfair and hosted by Haydock Park. The annual awards celebrate and recognise the unsung heroes of British racing – men and women who have made major contributions to the sport through their achievements.
Among the guests were Simon Bazalgette, Chief Executive of The Jockey Club, Lord Daresbury, Chairman of Haydock Park and Richard Wayman, Chief Executive of the Racehorse Owners’ Association.
The winners were: Stable Staff Award - Maria Harris; Stud Staff Award - Dudley Taylor; Racing Industry Support - Georgie Sherry; Graduate Award - Rachael Gowland; Outstanding Contribution - Paul ‘Barney’ Bamford.
