Arley Hall held a festive Shopping Spectacular event in aid of The Seashell Trust for the fourth year, raising around £24,000. Set up in 1991 by a committee including Lady Ashbrook, the Christmas shopping extravaganza has always supported local charities. The fair featured around 60 hand-picked stalls selling a range of gifts and delicious food. VIP guests enjoyed champagne and canapés on arrival before perusing the stands.

Mary Jane Greenhalgh, who helped put together the event, said: ‘We are delighted with the amount of money raised, it is considerably up on last year. Next year will be our 25th anniversary and we are looking for sponsors to help us raise even more for charity.’
